On April 23, 2012, I reached a major personal milestone with my photo-a-day project on Shuttercal. The rules were simple. One photo a day, of anything, taken between12:00 a.m. and 11:59 p.m. each day. I didn’t miss a single day. Over the course of the project I actually had nightmares about forgetting or losing a photo!

I’ve created a representation of my life over a period of a thousand days—a thousand days that saw me move six times, have five different relationships, and see twelve concerts. Some are great photos, some are great memories, and some are terrible photos or things that I’d like to forget. But they’re all a part of my life now.

I took a little bit of time to go back through all the photos that I took, and count up some statistics.

Out of 1000 photos:

I appear in 82 of them, other people that I know appear in 102 of them, including all 5 men that I’ve had serious relationships with, both of my parents, 2 sisters, and four other members of the Shuttercal community:@meltedsquirrel (appears in 5!),@andytuba (spotted in 2!),@RIGuitarGod, and@onepanda (each in only 1 photo).

My own art practice is the focus of 78 photographs, with the ASU galleries appearing in 24 images.

16 of the pictures were taken in states other than Arizona. California, Minnesota, and Illinois make appearances.

I took 140 pictures of food (more than any other subject!), with 7 of them featuring Mountain Dew and 25 of them including alcoholic beverages.

Animals appear in 25 photographs.

Entertainment is clearly a focus of my life – 56 of my pictures are movie-related, 29 show books that I’ve read, and 58 of them are shots of either my computer screen or my phone.

This makes me want to do a recap as well (something I've never done) and makes me thing about infographic/stats features as well. So cool.

Haha yeah, you're right. I think I was thinking of@JimmyTrainwreck, who technically appears in like 15 photos, but isn't really a member of the community since he stopped posting a while back.
