Are you any closer to fixing this problem? I have all my boxes ticked, so it's not that. At least two - from different people - missing today. They don't appear in my notifications either.

I don't think I am getting comment or receving replies or comments on threads.( unless no one is commenting on my pictures?)

we have noticed a few errors occurring in our email logs. the server that has showed up lately is gmail. we also have known issues with aol and yahoo. essentially, our system sends out email notifications, and then your email server receives them. in these situations, our system is sending out the messages, but there is a bottle neck happening on your email receiving end and it's causing a digital blockage. this problem clears itself up eventually, it's just a hassle until then :(
