Set the camera on a timer to get this shot.
I bought a bottle of wine for Ron's birthday dinner, and found another copy of Chopsticks. Turns out it's a free publication. And not that well written.
My best friend trying to help me figure out the new iPod I got to work. Two technical minds that are older than dirt trying to figure out today's technology. Definitely humor.

May

Aid began to trickle into cyclone-ravaged Myanmar late Tuesday but the worst-hit Irrawaddy delta, where nearly 22,000 people perished, was largely cut off from the rest of the world four days after winds, floods and high tidal waves tore through the densely populated region.

With more than 40,000 still missing and as many as 1 million possibly left homeless, the international community was struggling to deliver aid in the military-ruled country, which normally seeks to shut out foreign officials and restricts their access inside the country

Senate leaders have agreed to move forward on stalled legislation aimed at easing the impact of the falling housing market, the chamber's top Republican and Democrat announced Tuesday."Every day Congress and the president do nothing is another day closer to another American family losing their home," Reid had warned on the Senate floor.

The bill would, for the first time, allow bankruptcy judges to reset mortgages on primary residences. It would also provide $4 billion for local communities to buy and refurbish foreclosed properties; provide $200 million for counseling to help homeowners avoid foreclosure; give tax breaks for the homebuilding industry; and improve loan disclosure and transparency.

Republicans threatened to block the bill, as they did before the recess, unless Democrats gave in to their demands to allow votes on certain GOP amendments.
It's Like Pink Snow. I Look Forward to This Every Year.

March

It rained today, my feet are still wet from walking in the city.
this movie was ok. crappy ending!
Watched one of my favorite X-Files episodes today ("Memento Mori"). Only 116 days until the second movie!!
A series of attacks on dyed-hair, eye-makeup-wearing emo kids began in early March when several hundred people went on an emo-beating rampage in Querétaro, a town of 1.5 million about 160 miles north of Mexico City.
The next week, shaggy-haired emo teenagers were harassed again by punks and rockabillys in the capital, prompting police protection and a segment on the TV news. Most recently, a Mexican newspaper reported that metal heads and gangsters have warned Tijuana's emo kids to stay away from the town's fair next month.
But the so-called emos are organizing, too. Last week, they demonstrated against the violence, pictured above, and Wednesday some met with police in Mexico City.
"They're organizing to defend their right to be emo, which has provided stellar coverage of the whole affair."
Day 1 without caffeine: After multiple pleas from my doctor, family, and boyfriend, I made the leap to quit caffeine cold turkey. It may seem kind of strange to think somebody could be addicted to caffeine, but I realized how strong my addiction was, and how much damage it was doing to my heart. At my lowest, I was having 6-10 cups of coffee a day, and that's not counting sodas. I want to take pictures documenting this journey, so I don't feel so alone.

And Another Day Dies
I went exploring and came across a church sign on my road that had been busted open. All of those little plexiglas letters were strewn about the road, so I gathered the ones that weren't completely shattered. They spell "STILT," or "TILTS." This is the S. It's the first letter in my name.
