It was warm and sunny at lunch today, and I went and sat in the gardens under my favourite tree (and tourists kept stopping to take photos of it).

I went to an art sale with my friend, and I didn't expect to buy anything, but I did (& it mostly involved kittens, lol!) I don't know where I'm going to put any of it. My favourite is the one on the left, because it reminds me of New Zealand :)

Lots of little people... I have a compulsive buying problem. Also, I think Nemo licked one of my dolls :O

I'm glad I work near the botanic gardens. I go there pretty much every day. It's pretty much the only green place in the city. You can also see the ibis (big white birds) in the palm trees here.

My favourite tree, again. My compact camera really struggles with pictures like this. I was going to buy a new one, because I saw the one I wanted for $299. But when I went back to buy it, the price had gone up to $375, so I may not end up getting one for a while.

I finally bought a bag for my SLR. I went to a few camera shops, and the camera bags were mostly ugly black square things. But this one's not too bad (even if it is orange inside!).

There's a lot of wisdom on drink bottles! I quite like this vitamin water, although my sister tells me it's not as good for you as they say.

Anyone else watching the Olympics now? Apart from a few confusing parts, I thought most of the opening ceremony was pretty good :)

I kind of wasted this weekend in terms of taking photos in daylight. Anyway, these are our modems or whatever. I don't know why there are so many of them, but whenever the internet stops working, we have to reset all of them by turning them off one by one and then back on again in order, and it's a real hassle!

Today, I met up with 3 other girls who collect Pullip dolls. We got a few strange looks, but it didn't really matter, because at least we were together! It was fun.

I haven't really got any holidays planned at the moment. I think I went on about 11 flights last year, but this year I haven't done much at all. I really want to go to Japan to see a concert at the end of the year/beginning of next year.

I barely get around to taking any photos during the week. I don't get time to think about it! I was just sitting under a weird looking tree in the gardens at lunch today, and took a photo of this thing.

Today was a public holiday (YAY!), one of the last of the year (not yay), and I was determined to sleep in & do nothing! By the time I got up, my sister and her friends were all outside having a champagne breakfast.

I started walking through this shopping arcade on my way to the station after work as my friend told me it was a good way to avoid crowds. It's really cute and old-fashioned, & a lot of Australian designers have stores there. Sometimes when I walk through I see ladies sitting in the stores drinking tea with the store owners.

I was woken up at 6am by my sister's friend knocking on the door. He tends to turn up at weird times. Apparently he'd gone home to find that his dog had passed away in front of his house, so he didn't want to go inside. Poor guy. It just made me think that we should appreciate our pets while they're still around. I ended up staying home today because I wasn't feeling well. I went to get some blood tests and got butchered by the pathologist!

I entered a photo contest for the dolls I collect, and the theme is "In Dreams". I have to take one photo by Monday, and it has to have the (male) doll on the left in it, but there are no other restrictions. Help!

I went on a swing today. It was fun.

Today, Mum & I went to the beach and took photos of my doll for the doll photo contest! (We were originally going to set him afloat on the ocean, but that seemed a bit risky).

I'm always a bit jealous of Nemo when I have to leave the house to go to work in the mornings. I want to stay home and sleep in the sun too!

I felt terrible today because I had an argument with my dad. We don't get along so well anymore, especially since my parents separated. When I was a kid & we went to New Zealand, I'd always try to bring back random things like this pumice stone from Lake Taupo. He'd go through customs and declare it all, and thinking about it now, that was actually pretty nice of him. I feel like he used to care about me & my sister more than he does now.
