About Me:

The Empire State Building, as I can see it from my university.
1
NYC streets.

Laser sword duel in Washington Square Park.

8
My new lab!
9
Every time my roommate leaves, it's time to tidy up!
10
What a surprise!
11
Grocer's (baker's?) apostrophe.
12
Chocolate and pear teramuffin. I had some dough left. (By the way, I baked it - the microwave was used as a storage unit).
13
Dandelion fountain, 7th Avenue and W 54th Street.
14
At the Apple Store and at AT&T, for the fifth time in two weeks. Trying to get an iPhone for a foreigner is harder than getting a visa.
15
Street art in Union Square: Felix Morelo.
16
Borrowed a book by Walter Moers... the only one that I haven't read yet. Inspired by the famous engravings by Gustave Doré.
17
Astor Place station: a newsstand made out of a public restroom.
18
Lost my Metrocard. Had to buy a new one. Am waiting for a refund.
19
Park Slope, Brooklyn.

If you happen to visit the R and W 23rd St. subway station (Madison Square Park and Flatiron Building), you will enjoy a gallery of famous (and less than famous) hats. From left to right: Marie Curie (physicist), Winslow Homer (painter), Marcelle Earle (Ziegfeld girl), Loïe Fuller (dancer)...
21
And finally, iPhone! This means that most of my pictures will be a little smaller and blurrier from now on, but not so much - I bought the 3GS so they should be decent. This is part of the 'NYC subway stations' series... Prince Street.

Living in New York City may not always be easy, but the abundance of free events make it worth trying. Tonight, I attended a free preview of the documentary series 'The National Parks: America's best idea' in Central Park, and - surprise! - the event included a concert featuring, among others, Counting Crows, Gavin DeGraw, Allison Krauss, José Feliciano, Carole King, and Peter Yarrow and Noel 'Paul' Stookey (of Peter, Paul and Mary; the latter died last week).
23
8th Street Station: New York University.
24
Bi-dimensional Braille on a CUNY college restroom sign. Great idea.
25
My flatmate wanted me to try his new hat on. When he took this picture I was cooking (pasta with broccoli and capers sauce).
26
Hmmm.
27
Unusual seats in 33rd St Station, New York.
28
Reading 'Life of Galileo' by Bertold Brecht.
