About Me:

What, a cat on Shuttercal?!
1
I took this random, grotesque picture while listening to the radio commentary (in the main square of Sassari) of a basketball match: our local team is playing for promotion to the First Division... We won this one!
2
Reading 'Loving sabotage' by Amélie Nothomb.
3
The coat of arms of Sassari: horses with webbed hooves?!
4
Spot the Sardinian flag!
5
Just shopping at the supermarket.
6
Unknown artist*, unknown title (200?), unknown material (trachyte?). Porto Torres (Sassari), Sardinia.
7
Monte d'Accoddi, near Sassari, Sardinia.
8
In Rome, at a friend's place.
9
Io non respingo (I don't send back), a demonstration against the Italian-Libyan agreement on illegal migrants from sub-Saharan Africa.
10
Riding on the back seat of a friend's scooter is probably the best thing you can do in Rome.
11
La Bocca della Verità (The Mouth of Truth).
12
Art. 3 of the Constitution of the Italian Republic.
'All citizens have equal social dignity and are equal before the law, without distinction of sex, race, language, religion, political opinion, personal and
social conditions.
It is the duty of the Republic to remove those obstacles of an economic or social nature which constrain the freedom and equality of citizens, thereby impeding the full development of the human person and the effective participation of all workers in the political, economic and social organisation of the country.'
13
Meet Dr. Gregory House (but we call him Greg), my sister's dog.
14
Greg, again.
15
16
Stintino (Sassari, Sardinia).
17
At the beach with Artù, my dog!
18
'Teach your children Sardinian!'
19
Ad for a cultural event in three Sardinian towns: 'Narami' ('tell me'), art, storytelling and sounds of Sardinian women. Including our unique bread making tradition. (Must find pictures!)
20
More Sardinian traditional confectionery: tiriccas. Cf. April 12, 2009.
21
My 29th birthday... and wow! One year on ShutterCal!
22
23
A bunch of wild summer flowers.
24
Reading Brillant comme une casserole by Amélie Nothomb.
25
Stone pigeons in the fountain of St. Francis, in Sassari.
26
New trip: Genoa, for the national LGBT Pride, then Asti, where my 36-week-pregnant sister lives. Spending some time with her.
27
Greg is growing up!
28
Visiting Torino, once more. This is the Fountain of Frejus, in Piazza Statuto (Albertine Statute Square). Some of you probably know that Torino is one of the three vertices of both the triangle of white magic (with Prague and Lyon), and of the triangle of black magic (with London and San Francisco). This square is where people were usually executed in this city, and it faces West, where the Sun dies. These are some of the reasons why one of the manholes in the square is said to be the access to Hell, and the angel on top of this monument to be Lucifer.
29
Went to an equine medical center with an acquaintance of mine that works there.
