Name:

Paolo C

Location:

Brooklyn / Sassari (IT)

About Me:

Day #4: the Castle of Bardi.
1
Day #5: Bologna.
2
Day #6: still in Bologna. The statue of Luigi Galvani. Can you see the frog's legs?
3
Day 7: Asti. A real Polaroid picture!
4
Day #8: Torino, at last. Beautiful Torino, where I spent the best three years of my life. The city where I'm not ashamed of taking black-and-white photographs, because Torino can be a black-and-white city if you want. The city I can't visit, or talk about, without crying.
5
Day #9: Torino. Nancy Dwyer (American, born 1954), 'Waves of wanting' (2001). The wavy aluminum strips on the side of this building, in the afternoon, project a suggestive shadow: the word 'more' in five languages, repeated over and over.
6
Sassari.
7
My grandmother is obsessed with her old photographs. Every single shelf is embarrassingly covered with framed pictures.
8
Alghero by night.
9
The Fountain of the Rosello, one of the symbols of Sassari.
10
Sassari Public Library, main branch.
11
Downtown Alghero (really).
12
New acquisitions in Parco di Monserrato, Sassari.
13
New trip: Catalonia! Day #1: Girona.
14
Day #2: Barcelona ('Barna'). A huge sculpture of a cat by Fernando Botero, in the Raval.
15
Day #3: Montserrat, then Barcelona again. Three beautiful people at the MACBA (Museu d'Art Contemporani de Barcelona) at 11:30 pm, for the Nit dels museus (Night of the museums).
16
Day #4: Besalú, Figueres, and Banyoles, where this picture was taken. Last day in Catalonia...
17
One of the many old, decaying buildings in Sassari (flash picture from a hole in the door). There's so much to re-discover in my city.
18
The beach of Balai, in Porto Torres. Taken with my phone camera.
19
It was old and pretty. I hope they won't build a tall and ugly building in its place.
20
Balai (Porto Torres, Sassari).
21
This stupid guy keeps hiding Sardinia with his stupid body.
22
The typical street barbecue on the day before the Cavalcata Sarda, in Sassari.
23
Cavalcata Sarda. Click here to read a bit more about it.
24
25
Even in the most popular beach on this side of Sardinia, there are some hidden treasures. Nobody comes to this place – the only way to get here is a long walk in a pinewood with no paths. I could swim naked!
26
In London!
27
Enzo Plazzotta (Italian born, 1921-1981), 'Young dancer' (cast, unveiled 1988), bronze. In front of the Royal Opera House, London.
28
Stencil graffiti in Portobello Road, London.
29
At the demonstration against homophobia in Sassari.
30
One of the many murales in Tinnura (Oristano, Italy).
