Name:

Paolo C

Location:

Brooklyn / Sassari (IT)

About Me:

Ugh.
1
I fell in love with this folding bike... so much that I am going to buy one for loogle for Christmas. (That's why I uploaded this picture after Christmas!)
2
Pie party in New Jersey, at a friend's place. We also played bocce and I found out I'm rather good at it... I played with sepia effects and the result was this picture, that somehow reminds me of Belle and Sebastian's album covers.
3
It took me two years to discover this tiny Southern American café/food place in NoHo (Great Jones Cafe, in Great Jones Street). I had brunch here after trapping, on a lovely early fall day.
4
Michelle Greene, <i>Railrider's throne</i> (1991). Welded steel. 116th Street – Columbia University, New York City.
5
Sending postcrossing postcards...
6
7
Second weekend in urban woods: Inwood Hill Park. Looking for mice, but we found snakes too!
8
'You know you're doing urban ecology when...'
9
A walk in Inwood, Manhattan.
10
And here it is! One of the white-footed mice we caught. (Released after taking a small tissue sample)
11
loogle and I spent the afternoon deciding what to do with our apartment when our roommate leaves... in two weeks. One extra room!
12
The flattest café (I have) ever (seen)... Bleecker & Lafayette Streets, Manhattan.
13
A pleasant surprise.
14
Interesting...
15
Shabu-shabu in Koreatown, then a run to see Vashti Bunyan's concert at 92YTribeca. Shabu-shabu is FUN.
16
Ha!
17
Home-made pancakes!
18
The view from my office. A lot more sky than one would imagine!
19
A dog treat vending machine.
20
When you visit New York for the first time, you may be surprised to find out that while you are walking down Broadway, in Midtown, suddenly there's a part where all stores sell the same cheap and shoddy faux jewelry.
21
I think a friend of mine (when I used to work at the museum of natural history) might have conspicuously contributed to this show. I'm so curious about it!
22
The Saw Lady playing 'Edelweiss' from <i>The sound of music</i>. There's something fascinating in listening to music played with joiner's tools.
23
<i>Hieme et aestate, et prope et procul, usque dum vivam et ultra.</i> ('In winter and summer, and near and far, as long as I live and beyond.')
24
Autumn in Prospect Park.
25
My friend and flatmate Noah is leaving today.
26
The old MetLife building on a rainy afternoon.
27
I went to the Rizzoli bookstore (<a href='http://shuttercal.com/calendar/Prolagus/2009/2/10/'>remember?</a>) to buy a Richard Scarry book for my niece, and took a picture (I don't actually think it's allowed!).
28
This is the view from one of the windows at IKEA in Red Hook, Brooklyn. Well, if I could afford an apartment with such a view, I wouldn't probably buy IKEA furniture. Thank you.
29
Now that Noah has gone, loogle and I moved to his room and reorganized the whole apartment. This is our new bedroom!
30
This would be unusual even for New York... on any other day.
